I'm Pretty Old
By James Vanden Bosch
Growing to be very old means adjusting to gradual losses: of eyesight, hearing, mobility, and sometimes independence. 32.3 million Americans over the age of sixty-five live in nursing homes. While this is often the best possible arrangement in terms of care and security, for many it means adjusting to a very different lifestyle. In this engaging video several residents of a nursing home discuss aspects of aging and of life in a long-term care facility. It is an excellent resource for in-service and continuing education programs for long-term care professionals, and an outstanding tool for group discussions among older adults.
